Poetry Madness!

Celebrate National Poetry Month!
It doesn't need to rhyme--
Or even make lots of sense.
(or it could be very deep)

Have fun with words.
Have fun with pictures.
And then...
Pick a prize!

Pick words from a boxful cut from magazines--or cut your own. Arrange them on your choice of paper & you have created poetry! Or...write your own Haiku--or library acrostic. We have lots already on display. Starting this week, try Blackout Poetry. Take an old paperback no one wants (we have some) and pick any page. Begin crossing out words. Then write down the words left and you have your very own blackout poem!
Like this one:

Sitting on a stack of newspapers.
Recycling.
Piano play.
Jokes, singing.
Applaud.
Crazy!

Thinking Ahead...

Teens at the Teen Advisory Board Meeting (TAB) came up with some computer generated 'subway art':
They also came up with ideas for summer reading. The theme this year is "Beneath the Surface."

There's still time for you to tell us what you want to do @ the library this summer. Visit the CL Library & take the survey. When you turn it in, pick a small prize, too.  Or comment here with your ideas...

Un-Valentine's Day

Painting jars, splatter painting, and making plastic chocolate, molded chocolate candy, duct tape roses, anatomically correct heart cards, felt hearts, paper bag pillows, bubblegum sculptures & more made for decidedly anti-Valentine's Day fun:
